What kind of work would I be doing at Wingfoot Services?

Our company is a janitorial service contractor providing services such as:

  • Emptying Trash
  • Mopping
  • Vacuuming
  • Cleaning Entrance
  • Dusting
  • Water fountains
  • Sweeping
  • Cleaning restrooms

How many days per week do I work? Is there extra time I can work?

Average janitorial jobs with our company are Monday through Friday. Some buildings are only cleaned 3 days per week. Weekend work may also be  available. Additional shifts are available based on the quality of your work.

How am I trained and for how long?

Every new employee with our company goes through a training period with a supervisor for 3-5 days.
The first days on the job are an opportunity for employees to decide whether the job is right for them and for our management to determine if it is a good fit.

What if I need a day off or time off?

Days or time off are scheduled directly with our office. We require a 2 week advance notice on time-off requests.

Is there a dress code?

Yes. The following are not allowed:

  • Tank tops, Sandals, Short shorts
  • Clothing with offensive wording
  • No holes (shirts, pants, etc)
  • Unkempt or dirty appearance
  • Please dress appropriately for this type of work.

Will I be working alone or with others?

It depends. Some buildings require one employee, others require multiple employees based on the size of the building.

How am I supervised?

Account managers and supervisors from our company visit our work-site locations every week for customer service and quality control visits. Your responsibility is to follow your training and clean your area or building to the customer’s expectations.

Which building will I be assigned to work?

Depends on availability and your residence location. If no permanent buildings are available, you can begin training as a floater until a building becomes available.

Who do I report to for work?

If you are assigned to a building with an assigned manager or supervisor you report to that individual.
In most cases, you will be assigned to your own building and will be responsible for completing your own work.

What time of the day will I be working?

Most of our part time evening positions begin at 6:00 p.m. and conclude between 9:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. in the evening.

Does your company e-verify?

Yes. Our company complies with all U.S. Federal employment guidelines. Wingfoot Services is an equal opportunity employer. Certain locations may also require security background checks.

What are the hours worked?

Most cleaning shifts occur in the evening when buildings are empty. Average shifts are for 2-3 hours per night. Some may be longer if desired.

How do I get to and from work?

Transportation to and from your job site is your responsibility. Most locations will require you have your own reliable transportation.

What if I have an emergency or accident while on the job site?

If something happens to you while on the job site, it is CRITICAL that you notify Wingfoot Management, immediately. The following contact information is provided for that purpose:

How much is the pay?

Average wages per hour can vary depending on each building and BOE.

How do I find your office?

Wingfoot is located on Redwood Road in North Salt Lake at approximately 175 North Redwood Road. GPS Address is 801 W. Robinson Drive, North Salt Lake, Utah, 84054.

When are the pay days?

Payroll is distributed twice per month on the 5th & the 20th, or the closest business day to those days.

Can I bring someone with me to the job site?

No. Only hired employees are allowed on Wingfoot Services job sites. Violation of this policy may result in termination.

How is my performance evaluated and tracked?

Our Account Manager’s visit the buildings we serve to inspect the quality of your work and to meet with our customers. Supervisors also check job sites, regularly. Customer service requests may be passed on to you as necessary.

How do I get cleaning supplies and equipment?

Cleaning chemicals, products and equipment are all furnished by Wingfoot Services and are kept in a janitorial closet at each building. Supplies and equipment for your building are available at the Wingfoot Services warehouse and may be picked up on payroll days or on other days by request.
